Community Focus - Mindshop Excellence program
Mindshop Excellence was started in 1995 to fund the training of young people from the age of 8-17 years in Mindshop problem solving tools. A one week program is now offered to year 10 and 11 students where the group is hosted by an organization and given a real workplace issue to solve during that period of time.
For example in one program a student group had to develop a marketing strategy for the Commonwealth Bank (a major Australian bank) to increase its business in the Franchise market. Further Mindshop Excellence groups have been hosted by organizations such as Ford, Mars, AMCOR, Air International and BP as well as hundreds of smaller organizations.
The Australian Government has approved the Mindshop Educational Trust as a Charitable Organization. Being a Charitable Trust allows the Board to develop its strategies and plans independently and allows donors tax advantages. Mindshop is now expanding the program internationally through its membership base in the North America and Europe.
